Elopement Weddings in North Wales
A quiet beach at golden hour, a woodland clearing or a mountain view in Eryri. I’m Jane Jones, an award-winning celebrant, and I write and lead personal, relaxed elopement ceremonies for couples who want to focus on what really matters – each other.

Say “I do” where the mountains meet the sea
Beaches and clifftops, quiet woodland, still lakes and the peaks of Eryri – North Wales has a setting for every kind of couple. Tell me where you’re dreaming of and I’ll shape a ceremony around it.

Beach, woodland & mountain elopements
One of the loveliest things about a celebrant-led elopement is the freedom to choose where it happens. As long as you have permission to use the space, the ceremony can be created around the place you love.
Beside the sea
Sandy beaches, coves and clifftops along the North Wales coast.
In the woods
A quiet woodland clearing with dappled light and plenty of privacy.
Mountain views
Big skies and dramatic backdrops in and around Eryri.
By a lake
Still water, reflections and a calm, peaceful setting.
A garden or small venue
A private garden, holiday cottage or intimate wedding venue.
Somewhere meaningful
Where you met, got engaged or a place that holds family memories.

What’s included in an elopement ceremony?
Your elopement ceremony can be simple, personal and beautifully written. I’ll guide you through the options and write a ceremony that feels right for the two of you. It might include:
- Your love story
- Personal vows
- A symbolic ritual
- A reading or poem, including Welsh
- Music
- A ring exchange
- A moment of reflection
- Words about your hopes for the future
You read and approve your script before the day, and I’m on hand throughout with advice on locations, timings and nearby places to stay.
Making your elopement effortless
Planning an elopement should be as calm as the day itself. Here’s how we’ll get there together.

Your day
I meet you there and lead your ceremony, so you can simply enjoy the moment.

Elopement wedding rituals
Even the smallest ceremony can include a meaningful ritual. Handfasting, a unity sand ceremony, ring warming, candle lighting or personal promises all work beautifully at an elopement – and give you something symbolic to look back on.
Elopements are quoted to suit your plans. As a guide, wedding packages start from £600.

What is an elopement wedding?
An elopement is a small, intimate ceremony – often just the two of you, or with a few close family and friends. It lets you exchange vows in a personal, meaningful way without the pressure and cost of a large wedding.
Where can we elope in North Wales?
Almost anywhere you have permission to use: beaches, clifftops, woodland, lakesides, gardens, small venues or the mountains of Eryri. I can help you choose a spot that suits your vision and the time of year.
Is an elopement ceremony legally binding?
A celebrant-led elopement isn’t legally binding on its own. In England and Wales you give notice at your local register office and have a short legal ceremony there with two witnesses, before or after your elopement. I’m happy to guide you through it.
How much does an elopement cost?
Elopements are quoted to suit your plans, including location and travel. As a guide, my wedding packages start from £600 – get in touch and I’ll put together a quote.
Can we invite a few guests?
Of course. Your elopement can be as private or as inclusive as you like – just the two of you, or a handful of your closest people.
When is the best time of year to elope in North Wales?
Spring and summer bring lush landscapes and long evenings, autumn has beautiful colours and winter can be magical in the mountains. The weather varies, so I’ll help you plan for the season and location you choose.
Can you help with places to stay?
Yes. I can share recommendations for local accommodation and travel, whether you prefer a boutique hotel, a cosy B&B or something more adventurous.
